The pottery of local artist Maureen Lostumbo is on display in the lower hallway cases.
“My journey and enjoyment of working with clay has lasted over two decades. I started with handbuilt functional pieces and then moved on to wheel thrown work. Combining the two techniques opened my sense of creativity to unlimited possibilities. My pieces are “high-fired” in a gas kiln using glazes that sometimes give my work the look of being dug from the earth and other glazes that produce shiny or metallic finishes. I think pottery begs to be picked up giving a tactile experience of art.” – Maureen Lostumbo
On exhibit through January 31, 2024.
