Edmund Roman, Sr. (1926-2007) painted this image of the Hillsdale Free Public Library following its renovation with an addition in 2006.
About the artist: Edmund Roman was an artist from Colonia, New Jersey, who taught himself how to paint after a career as a truck mechanic. He taught art classes to fellow senior citizens in Woodbridge Township and was a frequent winner of the annual Senior Citizen Art Show at the Barron Arts Center in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
Edmund’s daughter, Deborah Lease, was the Supervising Library Assistant at the library from 2005 to 2025.
