Join us for an evening of music from, and historical insights about, the British Invasion of the 60s with Alex Prizgintas.

American Blues were cultivated and founded here but soon traveled across the ocean to England, where it took root and later returned as part of the highly successful British Invasion of the 60s. Travel back in time and learn the fascinating stories behind iconic hits of the period, in addition to experiencing the wonders of Alex’s cello when augmented with distorted, delayed, and “wah-wah” effects reminiscent of electric guitars.
Alex has more than ten years of classical training as a cellist. He performs at community venues in nearly every corner of the Hudson Valley. A life-long resident of the region, he currently serves both as President of the Woodbury Historical Society (an organization he has been involved with since the age of 11) and as government-appointed Town Historian of Woodbury. As of 2026, Alex also serves as Town Historian of Tuxedo and a board member of the Association of Public Historians of New York State. Learn more about Alex here.
