Literacy Volunteers
The library is a participating member of the Literacy Volunteers of Pascack Valley. This program matches adult learners of English as a second language with trained volunteer tutors. Students work with their tutors on a one to one basis. The goal of the program is to further the student’s fluency in the English language. The ability to speak and understand English will help them participate more fully in the community.
Tutors are always needed! There are many people in need of this service.
If you are interested in becoming a tutor please send an e-mail to heidi.sandiford@hfpl.org or call the library directly 201-358-5072.
Training takes place at the Westwood Public Library.
