The July book is Train Dreams by Denis Johnson..  An O. Henry Prize winning novella, this story is about Robert Granier, an early 20th century railroad worker.  He gains and loses a family while witnessing the vast changes across the century from influenza epidemics to flight.  An ode to the vanished West, rich in isolated settings and Native American folktales, fans of Bret Harte and Cormac McCarthy will appreciate this one.  Join us on Thursday, July 19th at 7PM to discuss.  Copies are available at the library’s front desk.
