International Games Day
Saturday, Nov 3
The Hillsdale Library will be participating in International Games Day along with approximately 5,000 libraries.   There will be fun and games for players of all ages.  Demonstrations and instruction will take place every half hour. Try one of the library’s games or bring one of yours from home.

Family Games from 1:00-2:30pm
Featuring family favorites including Monopoly, Jr, Sorry, Headbanz,  Shoots and Ladders, and Bingo, as well as, fun cards games such as: Rat-a-tat Cat, Sleeping Queens, and Beep Beep.

Teen and Adult Gamers from 2:30-5:00
Familiar games like Monopoly, Scrabble, Apples to Apples, Life and Clue will be on hand.  Or you can learn a new game like Blokus,  Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, or Pandemic.

You Vote for the Movie
Friday November 9 from 2:00-3:30pm
Not going away during teacher’s convention??  Great, we’ll be watching a movie—either Napoleon Dynamite or Swing Vote—you decide.  Snacks will be provided.

TAG Bake Sale Fundraiser
Tuesday & Wednesday, Nov 27-28 from 3:00-5:00pm
Buy a delicious treat and raise money for a teen in need.  TAG is once again participating in the All Wrapped Up program sponsored by the Volunteer Center of Bergen County.  Proceeds from the sale will go to purchasing holiday gifts for a  teenager.

Hobbit Party

Plan events and displays.  Decorate the teen area.  Suggest books, movies, and CDs that the library should buy.  This is a  great way to earn community service hours.

Cover to Cover Book Club

Pizza and Pages Book Club

Discuss Uglies by Scott Westerfeld and eat pizza.  Students in 7-8 grade are welcome.  Register at the public library or George White Media Center. November and December date TBD.  Co-sponsored by GWFFA.

Teen Writers Group
November 19 from 3:00-4:30 pm, December 17 from 3:00-4:30 pm
Do you like to write?  Whether its blogging, fiction, or poetry, now is your chance to practice your skills and find your voice.  You can start writing from scratch, bring something you are working on, or share a completed draft.  After some fun exercises to get the group started you can work on your own writing.  There will be time to discuss each others work, but sharing is not required.
