Sergeant Sean Smith will discuss his new book The History of the Hillsdale Police Department: 1898 to 1979, at the Hillsdale Library. Sergeant Smith compiled his history based upon departmental archives, personal interviews, photographs, and a treasure trove of old newspaper stories found in the Library’s local history room. The book offers a unique look at the Borough’s history through the lens of the Police Department. Sergeant Smith will recount many stories combined with a slide show of photographs. An exhibit of artifacts, photos, and newspapers will also be on display until March 31.
