“The visual arts serve as a soft reminder of how blessed I am and how even the location of my Hillsdale residency sends me and welcomes back home”

Karen Lee Clements has been a resident of Hillsdale for 9 years, native born of Cooperstown, NY. She has a B.A., in Justice Studies from Montclair State University. At Montclair Clements took classes in Art Law and painting, Clements works as a State Certified Paralegal and also maintains her A.A. Degree in Vocal Music, from Evangel University, of Springfield Missouri. Since high school Clements started taking photos with her 35 mm camera, but more so after graduation she became serious about her hobby. Clements loves visual arts, and always found herself in galleries admiring how people like photographer Eli Thomas used their gifts. So, she thought “Why not me?” and began to explore the world of photography.

Clements used to own horses, and she finds them to be a great subject of her photographs. With her Canon EOS Rebel II, Clements travels the world, finding inspiration in landscapes, nature and candid action shots. She utilizes photo editing programs such as “Gimp” to enhance her photos and to add “special effects” her work. Clements hopes you enjoy these images and art works as much as she have enjoyed finding and knowing them.

This is Clements’ first art exhibit.
Meet Karen at her reception on Thursday, October 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Over thirty photographs, in unique frames and compositions, are on view through October 31, 2014.
