Wild : from lost to found on the Pacific Crest Trail

This January we will be discussing Wild by Cheryl Strayed.  In the wake of her mother’s death, her family scattered and her own marriage on shaky ground, 22 year old Cheryl Strayed made the most impulsive decision of her life: to hike the 1,100 mile Pacific Crest Trail alone and with no experience as a long-distance hiker. Strayed faces down rattlesnakes, black bears, intense heat and record snowfalls. Wild vividly captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds.  An Oprah Book Club Selection and a recently released movie starring Reese Witherspoon.  Pick up a copy at our front desk.  New members are always welcome.
