The book is really interesting and exciting. It is inspiring that in Nazi Germany, the kids can still find ways to have fun. It is odd that both Liesel Meminger and Hans Hubermann have both escaped death multiple times, but it is surprising the way Hans treats his daughter in such a different way than his wife. I think it is funny, yet awesome, how Rudy Steiner warmed up to Liesel so quickly, even after he threw a chunk of ice and mud at her face when they first met. So far (though I’m only on page 67), I think this book is incredible, but can’t give it a full 5 star rating since I am not that far along. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 5, and so far I recommend it. REVISED to 5 STARS after reading more.
