In what I read, the main character Liesel began learning an important new skill which would fuel her desire for book thievery. In an attempt to read aloud in class, an incident occurred where Liesel got into (and won) a fist fight. On Adolf Hitler’s birthday, there was a book burning that Liesel attended which rendered a small plot twist. Throughout the portion that I read, Liesel attempted to write letters to her real mother, while her adoptive parents’ business began to slow due to the conditions of the war.
