No Promises in the Wind by Irene Hunt talks about how the great depression has effected the whole United States.It talks about how the two main character Joey and Josh (brothers) and their friend Howie leave there homes and go on an adventure to find a job that will make them money and let them to play music for a living . During this adventure that started all from Chicago lot of good and bad things happen on the way. Josh , Joey , and have to find a way to survive on there own during the Great Deppression . Will they be able to make it or will their plan burn into ashes?
