Teen Book Recommendation #5: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone written by J.K. Rowling, illustrated by Jim Kay
Book Stats:
page count: 246
pub date: 10/06/2015
genre: fantasy / adventure
age group: everyone
My Rating: 5/ 5 stars*
Why am I recommending this book?:
I’m not even sure that this needs an explanation. It’s Harry Potter and I know that most of you have probably already read it (at least once). For this new illustrated edition, HP is worth another read. The story is the same fantastic story it’s always been, but now it has beautiful illustrations by Jim Kay on almost every page.
If you were thinking about re-reading Harry Potter before Harry Potter and the Cursed Child comes out on July 31st, start back up with this edition. Or if you wait until October, you can read the fully illustrated Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets too.
*a note on my rating system: I go by the rates I use on goodreads.com, which are as follows:
1 star = did not like it
2 stars = it was okay
3 stars = liked it
4 stars = really liked it
5 stars = it was amazing
Anything a 3 or above is worth reading, in my opinion. I’ve read a lot of books that I have given 3 stars to, and I don’t regret any of them.
