The Hillsdale Free Public Library seeks an enthusiastic individual to work at our circulation desks. Hours required (16+) Monday 9am to 1pm, Tuesday 5pm to 9pm, Thursday 9am to 1pm, Friday 12 noon to 5pm, and substitution hours as needed.
Knowledge of Windows, internet, email, required. BCCLS experience a plus.
Qualifications:
• High School diploma required
• Computer experience required
• Fluency in English language (Foreign language a plus)
• Excellent communication skills required
• Avid reader
Job description includes but not limited to:
• Charges/Discharges/Renews library materials
• Collects fines
• Processes library card applications
• Prepares materials for delivery
• Communicates with patrons and assists in placing requests
• Responsible for communicating library policies and procedures to the public
• Provides assistance in directing the public to areas of the library
• Answers telephone
• Calls patrons to inform them that items are ready to be picked up
• Re-shelves library materials as needed
• Recommends books to public
• Performs other duties as needed
$10.50/hour starting

Sunday Librarian
The Hillsdale Library seeks a librarian to fill out the Sunday team. Applicants should possess an MLS degree and demonstrate a willingness to embrace a wide variety of responsibilities including circulation activities. Reference experience and high level of comfort with technology is preferred. Salary commensurate with experience. Will consider applications from students enrolled in an MLS program.
