Teen Book Recommendation #15: Very Good Lives: The Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination by J.K. Rowling
page count: 80
pub date: April 14th, 2015
genre: non-fiction (speech)
age group: teen+
My Rating: 4 / 5 stars*
Why am I recommending this book?: It’s super short and therefore a very quick read. Did you see that it’s only 80 pages (and there is not a lot of text on those pages). It’s a fantastic read. It’s a feel good read or maybe it’s more of an inspirational read.
If you’ve ever needed a bit of a pick-me-up this is the book to do it. We are all going to fail at some point and it’s nice to hear about what you can do with that failure. I mean really if it worked for J.K. Rowling it can work for us too, right?
*a note on my rating system: I go by the rates I use on goodreads.com, which are as follows:
1 star = did not like it
2 stars = it was okay
3 stars = liked it
4 stars = really liked it
5 stars = it was amazing
Anything a 3 or above is worth reading, in my opinion. I’ve read a lot of books that I have given 3 stars to, and I don’t regret any of them.
