A variety of ornaments and wine stoppers are on display in the lower lobby cases. Items are for sale and a percentage of sales will benefit the Hillsdale Library.

Handmade Polish jezyks or “porcupines” are traditional folk art star ornaments, which Nick and Jacqueline learned to make as children. Each of the 96+ points is individually cut, rolled, shaped, and glued. Designs are chosen from handmade paper from India and southeast Asia, gift wrap, custom patterns, and more. They are sometimes embellished with crystals, beads, and ribbons. Ornaments are then carefully assembled, the entire process taking about two hours to complete.

Prices range from $15 to $22.

Custom ornaments can be ordered. Contact Nick Metz 201-665-6789 or Jacqueline Metz 201-574-5595
