Through the month of June, 2019, the paintings of Max Horbund and Anita Carson will be displayed at the Hillsdale Public
Library.
Max has been a professional artist for forty years, his expertise being oil painting. He has gone through periods from
realism, to abstract painting, and his work has been featured in galleries and museums all over the world. His paintings
have been included in more than one hundred private and public collections and he has been represented by galleries in
America and Japan. Max was an instructor at The Art Student’s League of New York City, served on its Board for 15
years and was the President of the League for three. He works at his studio in New Jersey and is an instructor of oil
painting at the Art Center of Northern New Jersey in New Milford.
Anita began painting late in life. Throughout her life, she “dabbled” in various art mediums. She took art courses at
Fordham University and was never “serious” about learning to paint. Then she studied with Max Horbund at the Art
Center of Northern New Jersey, and will continue to apply herself to oil painting for the rest of her life until she master’s
it.
Landscapes and still lifes are on exhibit. Paintings are for sale. Information is posted at the library regarding purchase.
