A New Story by J.K. Rowling!
J.K. Rowling announced on May 26, 2020 that she has written a new story, The Ickabog. The story will be published for free HERE, in installments, over the next seven weeks, a chapter (or two, or three), at a time.
First written over ten years ago as a bedtime story for her younger children, J.K. Rowling decided to share the personal family favorite now online and for free to help entertain children, parents and carers (and more) confined at home during the coronavirus lockdown. The book will be published in November and J.K. Rowling has committed to donating all her royalties to help people who have been affected by the coronavirus.
Additionally, J.K. Rowling is calling all budding artists to help illustrate the book! Every day when chapters of the story are uploaded, she will be making suggestions for what you might like to draw or paint to illustrate the story as it goes along. You should let your imagination run wild! The best bit is, if you are between seven and twelve years old, your parent or guardian on your behalf can enter your drawings or paintings into the official competition being run by J.K. Rowling’s publishers, for a once in a lifetime chance to be featured in The Ickabog book. Check HERE for more on the competition!
