Fabric of the Community is creative crowd-sourced project at Hillsdale Free Public Library.

We ask you to contribute a piece of fabric to the project. We hope it will be meaningful and that you will share some history behind your piece of fabric. Maybe an old concert T-shirt? A well-loved sweatshirt? A bandanna that your Labrador once wore? Anything at all – as long as it has been cleaned.

You are part of the fabric of our community. You should be here. Sew your fabric piece to the others. Ask staff for help.

Fabric blocks will be pieced together to form a large crazy quilt. The project will end on New Jersey Makers Day March 26, 2022.

Brian McKenna's name tags
Brian McKenna was in ROTC at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre. After graduating, he entered the Air Force as a Second Lieutenant. These name tapes are for the ABU [Airmen Battle Uniform, or what you and I would simply call Camo]. They actually order a bunch of these name tapes to have sewn on to their uniforms.

Dave contributed his Cross Country Life Is Good shirt. He is an avid runner and this was one of his favorite shirts to bum around in. Now part of the quilt.
