Walk with your child through a field of Driving Dreams. Take your child’s photo behind the wheel of some of the most exciting and important cars of the 20 th Century. On Sunday September 8 th the Hillsdale Free Public Library in collaboration with website Drivin’ News (www.drivin-news.com) will present a first ever Collectible Car Fair for Kids and Teens. This unique interactive event will afford boys and girls ages 18 and younger a hands-on opportunity to experience some of the most significant automobiles of the 20th century. More than 25 vehicles, representing 11 decades of history will be on site.

Children will have the opportunity to sit in each vehicle and experience the living history of the greatest gift of the industrial age, the automobile.

Youth 10 years of age or older are invited to pre-register to become certified Judges of the Car Fair. Youth will participate in a short half-hour class and then they will judge the automobiles using a score sheet. The class starts at 9:00 am SHARP and is limited to 21 youth participants. Pre-register through the calendar.

A “Fun Hunt for Car Facts” will challenge children to find answers to a list of classic car questions. The first 75 children finding all the correct answers will win a poster of himself or herself with their favorite car on display. As well, attendees will have the opportunity to discuss career opportunities in classic car restoration and related fields .

SPECIAL NOTE: Parking is available across Hillsdale Avenue at St. John’s Academy and on the local side streets where parking is normally permitted. Parking is also available at the Municipal West Lot between Wendy’s and Chipotle. The library parking lot will be used only for the display of vehicles.
