Boscobel Birches by Linda Barboni
Boscobel Birches by Linda Kehoe Barboni

Linda Barboni is an accomplished watercolor and pastel artist. After painting in acrylic and oil early in her career, Linda diversified to wet-on-wet watercolor. This technique, she explains, “always produces surprises. The spontaneity of pigment moving with water is why I fell in love with it 30 years ago.” The excitement of the medium provides constant inspiration to the artist, which expanded further when she began working chalk pastels onto the watercolor surface, giving a visual sense of luminosity to her paintings.

For the library’s exhibit, Linda was keen to augment her work with that of her grandfather and granddaughter – making it a “generational showing.” Oil paintings by William Kehoe are on display as well as acrylics by Alessandra Barboni. Alessandra, who is 11, has been painting since she was 7 and is part of an international group of painters. She has shown her work in Paris (on the grounds of the Louvre), Barcelona, and Santo Domingo.
