NJ Makers Day 2026

On March 21, we celebrated artists, crafters, and makers in our local community who exhibited their talent at the Hillsdale Free Public Library’s Makers Day. Exhibits included:

• Arborvitae Vase, wood turned by Len Stambler*
• Brothers from Other Mothers, wood turned bowls by Steve Cipolla*
• Build a Gym at Home by Dave Franz*
• Crochet Amigurumi by Alejandra Locke*
• Flower Trinket Box and Goblet, wood turned by Cyndi Boyd
• Willowscape, handmade Necklaces by Abby Atkinson*
• Harbor Diorama by Jeremy Park
• Makers & Breakers by Scott Marchfeld*
• Multimedia Art by Suzi Gerace*
• My Mom’s Garden by Pia Bisesi
• Offset Bowl, Wave Bowl, and Bud Vase, wood turned by Bill Abram*
• 1949 Chevy 3100 Bench Seat Restoration by Dave Franz*

Attendees also had the opportunity to get creative at several “hands on” and demonstration stations, including:

• Engrave a charm using the library’s laser engrave
• Fold a book to look like a hedgehog*
• Learn about 3-D printing at the library
• Make a button with our button-making machine
• Take a selfie in our giant kaleidoscope*
• Try balloon art
• Type a note on our 1930 Smith Corona typewriter*
• Use a lathe to make a wooden pen with the Hudson Valley Wood Turning Association
