Children's Library at the Hillsdale Free Public Library

Children

Located on the 1st floor of the Hillsdale Free Public Library (HFLP), the Children’s Library is an engaging place–for young and old alike–with a play area, puzzles, a coloring table, and of course books.

Our collection boasts more than 35,000 books that include sensory board books, favorite characters such as Bluey, Gabby’s Dollhouse, Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, and more, and a large collection of phonics sets. We also have curated a unique transitional section of books that bridge the gap between easy readers and more advanced fiction.  For our more advanced readers, our collection includes popular series such as Dog Man, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Spy School, as well as a robust collection of graphic novels and manga.

As part of the Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS), even more books and resources are available to Hillsdale residents with a HFLP library card. BCCLS also has a Ready Reference guide with up-to-date information on children’s media and programs, available here to review.
