The Hillsdale Free Public Library is pleased to exhibit the moon and landscape photography of Hillsdale resident Sarah Murphy in the Meeting Room Gallery throughout October.
A reception will be hosted by Sarah on October 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. All are welcome!
Chasing Light: Between Earth and Sky is a photographic exploration of the beauty that surrounds us – from the quiet glow of the moon to the ever-changing landscapes below. Through moments of light, shadow, color, and stillness, this collection reflects the wonder found in both earth and sky. Each photograph captures a fleeting moment – a view, a shift in light, or a scene that invites us to stop and look a little closer. Together, the images are a reminder that beauty is often right in front of us. We simply have to pause long enough to notice it.
Sarah Murphy is an amateur photographer based in Hillsdale, New Jersey, with a passion for capturing the beauty found in the world around her. Drawn especially to the changing light of the sky, the quiet beauty of the moon, and the landscapes that surround us, Sarah’s photography reflects her appreciation for moments that can easily go unnoticed. Her images are inspired by curiosity, nature, and the simple act of stopping to look a little closer. Through her lens, Sarah hopes to share the beauty she sees in both the extraordinary and the everyday—and perhaps inspire others to pause, look up, and take it in. Chasing Light: Between Earth and Sky celebrates that sense of wonder and Sarah’s unique view of the world around her.
